Hi there!

I'm an experimentalist at the intersection between condensed matter physics and materials science. I work on the synthesis of quantum matter heterostructures and use a variety of tools to engineer their properties and probe the emergent phenomena.

I play with materials chemistry to engineer novel structural, electronic and magnetic properties in quantum materials grown by pulsed laser deposition. This can include moving ions around, playing with boundary conditions or mechanical manipulation. I characterise my materials using a range of techniques from in-house transport and spectrometry to unique international facilities such as synchrotron, neutron and muon sources. At the same time, I am trying to understand the fundamental properties of matter and developing platforms for future transformative technologies.

Currently I'm an Associate Scientist in the Stanford Institute for Materials and Energy Sciences at SLAC National Lab and the Department of Applied Physics at Stanford University, working in the group of Professor Harold Hwang. In Autumn 2024 I will join the Materials Science and Engineering Department at Northwestern University as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor.
